So we've been keeping this hush-hush for much too long. If you know us, we often just blurt out good news as soon as we hear it. (We're perpetually excited about all things around here...) But there were processes that needed to be followed before we said anything, so we have just been sipping our water (in agony) and waiting for February like a kid waiting for Christmas.
Alter Egos Gallery is now officially partnered with the Fayetteville Art Guild! This is a perfect time too because the FayAG is moving into a transformational period with a brand new and amazing board with BIG ideas for art in Fayetteville and surrounding areas. And ALL art too, not just painting and visual art, but performance art as well. Meaning dance, poetry, singing, theatre... and the list goes on and on...
We have never been more excited to work with a guild because what they want is exactly what we want. More art for EVERYONE! Yes, even you, yes you the one who keeps saying they can only draw stick figures. We want you to take the plunge and explore your creative side with us. There is no wrong way to be creative (unless it involves killing someone... yeah, that would be negative.) whether it's a big splash of green paint on a blank canvas, or handmade jewellery, or a poem that's only 3 lines long - create it!
So what does this mean for the gallery? Will we be changing, will art need to be juried for entry? Will this limit the crazy events we come up with?
Actually, other than the information on the Fayetteville Art Guild and their logo being present on many of our events and promotions - nothing will really change. This is because our ideals are identical. From the beginning, the FayAG has been supportive of our vision and events, and we have been equally obsessed with their rebirth and vision. So it's a match made in heaven. So expect more of the same and on a larger scale now that we have a group of people (a family really) that will be helping grow the guild and the gallery. Watch for the official board list to be released after they are sworn-in March 20th!
